COMMISSION MEETINGS AND HEARINGS
No Commission open meetings or executive sessions were scheduled this week.
Advisory Opinion 2017-02 (War Chest, LLC). On May 18, the Commission made public a draft of Advisory Opinion 2017-02 (War Chest, LLC). The requestor asks several questions about the permissibility of a proposal to offer political committees a web-based deposit program under the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended (the Act), and Commission regulations. Public comments are due by noon on May 24, 2017.
Campaign Legal Center, et al. v. FEC (Case 1:16-cv-00752-JDB). On May 12, the Commission filed its Notice of Filing of Certified Lists of Contents of the Administrative Records in MURs 6487, 6488, and 6711 and Certified Lists of Contents of the Administrative Record in MURs 6487, 6488, and 6711 in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
On May 18 in Washington D.C., Commissioner Ellen L. Weintraub participated in a panel discussion entitled “Money and Influence in Washington” at the 2017 Lobbying Institute Conference, an event sponsored by the American Bar Association's Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice.
